Shiv Sena UBT Claims Global Scam in Maharashtra's Ladki Bahin Yojana

The Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) has accused the Mahayuti government of orchestrating a 'global scam' through the Ladki Bahin Yojana. Allegations suggest that around one crore women were misled into voting for the ruling coalition in exchange for financial benefits. Following an e-KYC process, approximately 80 lakh women were deemed ineligible for the scheme, raising concerns of misappropriation of funds. The party has called for an investigation by a sitting High Court judge, highlighting the need for accountability in the distribution of government funds.

Key Takeaways

  • Maharashtra government accused of electoral fraud
  • Shiv Sena demands probe into Ladki Bahin Yojana
  • 80 lakh women declared ineligible for benefits

So now the Shiv Sena UBT is making some really serious claims against Mahayuti government . They are calling Ladki Bahin Yojana a "global scam" and saying votes were bought using public money. This is getting very messy .

The whole allegation is in their party mouthpiece,Saamana . They are saying that the government basically used this scheme to get votes from nearly one crore women in Maharashtra, which is a huge number . And they want a full investigation by sitting High Court judge.

And honestly, this is where things get uncomfortable .

According to UBT,after an electronic KYC process, around 80 lakh women were suddenly found ineligible for scheme's benefits . So question is,why now, after elections are over? The editorial directly names Devendra Fadnavis,Eknath Shinde, and Ajit Pawar in this.

The Saamana editorial had very direct quote: "These three 'brothers' introduced the scheme right in the middle of the elections, promising monthly allowances to gain votes." This shows how directly they are pointing fingers.

Few key points UBT is making:

  • Allegations of vote buying using funds from Ladki Bahin Yojana to win elections.
  • They are demanding a full probe by High Court judge into how this scheme was run.
  • Claim that over ₹17,000 crore was wrongly given to beneficiaries who were not even eligible.

But the UBT also says government was giving money to these so-called ineligible people for more than year and a half . They are arguing that this money isn't from the pockets of politicians,it is public money.

So they are saying any recovery of money should not be from women who received it . Instead, they want properties of officials responsible to be seized and anti-corruption cases filed against them. This is a very strong demand ah.

The timing of all this is what makes it look so political . UBT is saying the ruling parties' success in elections was because of these financial benefits given to women voters . And now only, after voting is done, they are saying these women were disqualified.

And their final demand is even bigger . They are telling Election Commission to invalidate votes cast under these conditions and just call for new elections in Maharashtra.

Calling for whole new election is a massive step . Makes you wonder if this is just political noise or if there is something really wrong with how this scheme was handled…
