So another horrible story coming out from Ambernath,Thane and this one is just heartbreaking . A 26-year-old woman,Vishakha Tilkar, died by suicide just 48 days after her marriage . Forty-eight days only.
And reasons her family are giving are so disturbing and honestly,so common.
Vishakha married Nitin Tilkar on April 30 . Her family alleges that the relationship turned sour almost immediately after wedding . The issue? Dissatisfaction with wedding gifts.
Her husband and in-laws were apparently unhappy with gifts they received and started harassing her for it . They allegedly forced her to bring more jewelry and money from her parents' house. This is a pressure many girls face, but what happened next is just beyond belief.
And this is where situation became a full-blown nightmare.
The abuse was not just emotional ah . It became physical and controlling. Her husband,Nitin, allegedly installed CCTV cameras inside house to monitor her movements . She was beaten violently if she even spoke to anyone outside, like neighbors. Just two days before her death, she was reportedly beaten for talking to a female neighbor. Can you even imagine that level of control?
Few things standing out in this case:
- Harassment started almost immediately over wedding gifts.
- Husband allegedly installed CCTV cameras to monitor her every move.
- She was beaten just two days before her death for talking to female neighbor.
After her death,a case was filed at Shivajinagar Police Station against husband Nitin Tilkar, his mother Chhaya Tilkar, and brother Ninad Tilkar . Police have confirmed that Nitin has been arrested . They are still searching for the other two.
The saddest part is that Vishakha's parents were reportedly planning to rescue her from that house . They knew something was wrong but tragedy happened before they could act .
It just makes you think how many women are trapped in situations like this right now . Forty-eight days is not long time at all,for a new marriage to become a prison she couldn't escape… it's just so difficult to process.
