So much activity happening in Karnataka politics rn ahead of oath-taking ceremony . D.K . Shivakumar, the Chief Minister-designate,is meeting everyone from his own party leaders to opposition.
First,he went to Siddaramaiah's official residence,Kaveri,on June 3 . Shivakumar apparently expressed lot of gratitude to him for his guidance and support during whole process .
And Siddaramaiah also congratulated Shivakumar and even G. Parameshwara, who is going to be Deputy Chief Minister . This kind of mutual respect is good to see ah .
But Shivakumar is also busy building his team . He reached out to Dr. Sharanaprakash R. Patil, who was a minister before, and invited him to join the Council of Ministers. Patil is considered a strong leader, and photos showed his supporters were already celebrating the news.
And tbh, this next part was quite interesting .
Later same day,Shivakumar went and paid visit to former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa . He got very warm welcome there, complete with traditional blessings and even a shawl draping ceremony.
This gesture is very symbolic, especially coming from a leader from rival party .
Few things standing out from these meetings:
- Shivakumar's gratitude — Expressed thanks to Siddaramaiah for his mentorship.
- Invitation to Dr . Patil — Shivakumar reached out to invite him to join cabinet .
- Support from Yediyurappa — Former CM welcomed Shivakumar and offered blessings .
All these interactions are being seen as a sign of unity which is going to be important for state . Karnataka has many challenges to deal with in coming days .
But you have to wonder if this spirit of cooperation will last once the government actually starts working . Politics is always unpredictable…
