This Ulwe case is honestly very disturbing, because it is not just about some prostitution racket . Two minor sisters, aged 17 and 14,were allegedly pulled into exploitation and then names of local political figures also came up. That combination itself is scary ah .
As per police reports, whole matter came out after Ulwe Police arrested woman agent Sarika Gaikwad on June 17,2026 . She was reportedly involved in luring two minor sisters into prostitution by offering financial promises .
And after her arrest, investigation started showing something much bigger than one agent only . Police say Gaikwad was instrumental in recruiting minors, and then links to local political figures also surfaced .
Kunal Naik,a former BJP corporator from Pen,had allegedly contacted Gaikwad to arrange services of minors . Upendra Koladkar,a nominated corporator from Shiv Sena (Shinde faction),was also implicated for allegedly participating in sexual exploitation of minors.
Police later conducted raid at La Residency Lodge in Ulwe, where illegal activities were reportedly taking place . The two minor sisters were rescued from there, and this is where case became even more serious.
Few things standing out in this case:
- Four individuals,including two corporators,were arrested.
- Accused face charges under POCSO and Immoral Traffic Acts .
- Investigation is still going on as authorities probe deeper into network.
Authorities have charged arrested individuals under Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act . All four suspects have been remanded to police custody until June 24,2026,as investigation continues .
And tbh, when political names come into case involving minors,it creates different level of anger among people . Public outrage is obvious because these are people who are supposed to be part of local public life, not linked to such allegations.
Child rights activists and local authorities are now calling for stricter enforcement of existing laws and better protection for vulnerable minors . But question is always same, how many such networks are operating quietly before one raid finally exposes them…
This case feels like one of those moments where everyone gets shocked for few days, but real test is what happens after headlines fade . Will there be actual accountability,or will this also become another file moving slowly somewhere…
