So much drama happening in Telangana politics rn . Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan is making it very clear that his connection with Telangana is not new,and he's not just some outsider.
And he's bringing out receipts . He actually shared one old video clip from 2009 on social media to remind critics about his early support for the statehood movement.
He highlighted his participation in the Telangana Samajika Nyaya Sabha alongside figures like Gaddar Garu and student leaders from Osmania University . So he's trying to show he has been there for long time.
And honestly, this is where things get so political ah.
This whole thing flared up after the Telangana Police denied permission for his scheduled public meeting in Hyderabad . Pawan Kalyan is obviously not taking it lightly and is hitting back at current Congress administration, saying he won't be intimidated by these restrictions.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- He supported Telangana statehood back in 2009 with the Praja Rajyam Party.
- Jana Sena Party will contest the 2029 polls in Telangana, which is a big announcement.
- The leader is vowing to raise his voice against any injustice, basically challenging the govt.
His post said,"My support for Telangana was never driven by political expediency," and he is reminding everyone that he openly supported the movement even when the government led by late YSR was opposed to it . That's strong point to make.
He is talking about his vision for a "Samajika Telangana" built on social justice and equal opportunities . And he also shared a poem by Seshendra titled "That is my path," which is about choosing a journey with challenges. Very symbolic.
But it seems current government is not buying his old connections . They see him as a political threat from neighbouring state.
Pawan Kalyan says Telangana is integral part of India and no administrative hurdles will stop him from engaging with its citizens or contesting in 2029 . So it's like a direct challenge now… will be interesting to see how Telangana govt responds to this next…
