Just saw this story from Kolkata and it’s actually scary ah . A man named Matiur Rahman was arrested for allegedly duping a woman he met on matrimonial site. And the details are just unbelievable.
The victim is a young woman from Naihati in North 24 Parganas district . She met this guy,who called himself Manik Roy,online. He told her he had some high-paying job earning ₹1.5 crore every year. Big claims .
And slowly he started manipulating her . He kept asking for money,making up stories about some family emergency,even said his uncle died . pressure was so much that she ended up giving him ₹85,000 in cash,a gold bracelet,and other valuable things .
And honestly,this is where things get so uncomfortable.
But woman started getting suspicious after some time . She did her own investigation,which is very brave,and found out he had a history of doing this to other women also. She even contacted them and they all confirmed they were duped in same way.
After collecting all this proof,she finally went to the police . The police acted on her complaint and arrested this Matiur Rahman on June 2 .
