Seeing news about D.K. Shivakumar's swearing-in ceremony as new Chief Minister of Karnataka . And honestly, the level of security is just something else. Lok Bhavan has basically turned into a fortress .
They have deployed over 2,000 police personnel just to make sure the event goes smoothly . This is not small thing ah. Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh is personally overseeing everything, with three Joint Commissioners and 20 Deputy Commissioners of Police also on duty.
And this is where you see how serious they are taking it .
The access protocols are super strict . Only VIPs and VVIPs with valid vehicle passes can even get close to Lok Bhavan. Everyone else is being stopped at Thimmaiah Circle .
But they have arranged special electric golf carts from there to take dignitaries to the main venue . And all dignitaries are told to arrive at least one hour before ceremony starts, just to make sure everything is on time.
At same time, the celebration mood is also on another level. Supporters and Congress workers are going all out. They've put up a massive 100-foot cut-out of him in Sumanahalli, which is under Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency . Banners are everywhere from Kempegowda International Airport to the city.
One group, the Congress Kisan Cell Karnataka, even made a garland out of ₹20 currency notes to give to him . Talk about showing support .
Few things standing out clearly from this whole situation:
- Over 2,000 police officers deployed for security is massive number.
- Very strict entry rules with vehicle passes and golf carts for dignitaries only.
- Supporters are celebrating big time with huge cut-outs and banners across city.
It's such a strange mix, isn't it? On one hand you have this huge, almost military-level security operation . On other hand, you have this massive public celebration happening all around.
It really shows how significant this political change is for Karnataka . security shows the high stakes, and the celebrations show the high expectations people have from Shivakumar's leadership .
All this security and all this celebration... it makes you wonder what comes next for the state...
