So JD(U) is now claiming they've crossed the one crore member mark in Bihar . And tbh,that is a seriously big number for any regional party.
This whole thing is part of a membership drive that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself launched back on December 6,2025 . The party’s national working president,Sanjay Jha,announced that they have exactly 1,00,01,925 members as of June 2,2026.
And of course,Jha was on social media thanking all the party workers for taking the campaign down to booth level . He said JD(U) is all about serving people of Bihar under Kumar's leadership.
This isn't just random number ah. It's part of their big organizational plan for 2025 to 2028. They are trying to show they are one of the strongest parties in the state.
Few things standing out clearly in this news:
- JD(U) is now in the ‘one crore members’ club along with RJD and BJP in Bihar.
- Their recent election performance has been very strong,winning 85 seats in 2025 assembly polls .
- This whole push seems to have gained speed after Sanjay Jha took over as National Executive President.
And you can see why they are celebrating . Their numbers have been going up only. They got 43 seats in 2020,then matched BJP with 12 seats in 2024 Lok Sabha polls,and then that big jump to 85 seats in 2025 Bihar Assembly elections .
But they are not alone in this numbers game . BJP is saying they have around 1.56 crore members,and RJD also claims their base is over one crore. So the competition for every single voter is getting intense.
Now they have a National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for June 21 . Obviously to plan their next steps and how to use this new organisational strength .
It's one thing to get people to sign up for membership… but turning all those members into dedicated voters on polling day is a completely different challenge…
