So JD(U) is making some big moves in Bihar politics ah . They are proudly announcing they have crossed one crore members which is not a small number at all.
This whole membership expansion campaign was launched by Nitish Kumar on December 6, 2025 . And by June 2, 2026,they have enrolled 1,00,01,925 members. The party's national working president,Sanjay Jha,shared this on social media and thanked everyone for support.
He said the party is committed to "serving people of Bihar under the leadership of Nitish Kumar" and is focused on "meeting the aspirations of the state's residents" . Standard political talk,but the numbers are there to back it up this time .
And this isn't just a random drive. It's part of a bigger plan to strengthen party from 2025 to 2028 . clear goal is to become one of the most powerful political organizations in Bihar.
Few things standing out in this whole development:
- JD(U) has successfully enrolled over one crore members in just six months.
- party has shown a notable resurgence,winning 85 seats in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections .
- JD(U) now joins BJP and RJD as one of the largest political forces in Bihar.
But you have to see their recent performance also. In the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections,they got only 43 seats and were the third-largest party . Then in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,they bounced back with 12 parliamentary seats,which was same as BJP's tally. This new membership number comes right after that upward trend.
Party leaders are giving lot of credit for this growth to organizational efforts started after Sanjay Jha became National Executive President . Seems like he has really shaken things up inside the party structure.
And tbh,this is where Bihar politics gets really competitive. BJP apparently has around 1.56 crore members and even RJD claims to have a membership base of over one crore . So with this milestone,JD(U) is putting itself right in the middle of that big league fight.
It's a clear signal that they are not just surviving but trying to dominate the political space again.
But are these just numbers on paper or do they represent real,dedicated supporters on the ground… that's something only time will tell…
