Indore really had different energy on June 22, 2026,with Shiv Baraat procession in Balaji area pulling thousands of devotees into one big festive mood . And honestly, these events are not just about crowd or decoration, they carry that old community feeling which is hard to explain.
Procession started from Mukut Manglik Bhawan and moved through Gumasta Nagar and Scheme No. 71 . Whole route seems to have turned into mix of devotion, colour, music and public excitement.
People came in colorful attire, artists dressed as Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati added spiritual charm, and those decorated horses, buggies and camels must have made scene look properly grand . Not everyday you see mythology, faith and local celebration coming together like this.
And tbh,the groups dressed as spirits also sound like interesting touch . Slightly theatrical, slightly traditional, and fully made for crowd attention only .
Few things standing out clearly from event:
- Health camp organized — over 265 people received health check-ups .
- Around 156 received free consultations from volunteer doctors.
- Maheshwari Ideal competition saw about 40 participants from across Madhya Pradesh.
What I liked here is that this was not just religious procession and done . Balaji area also hosted health camp where 265 individuals underwent health check-ups,and several doctors volunteered their services during event . That is actually good use of community gathering ah.
Maheshwari community also joined in large numbers, showing cultural pride and devotion in very visible way . Maheshwari Ideal competition was divided into two age categories, and participants showcased talents across age groups, which gives younger and older people both some space.
Various community representatives attended event, and Mahila Mandal president Madhuri Somani expressed gratitude to all guests and participants . Small details like this show how much planning goes behind one procession, even if from outside we only see lights, crowd and celebration.
And at same time,it makes you think how festivals in cities are changing now . Faith is there, culture is there, but health camps, competitions, volunteer doctors and social participation are also becoming part of same frame… where does celebration end and community work begin?
