Suhas Shirsat of Mahayuti alliance winning with 455 votes is not small thing ah,especially when closest rival Ganesh Lokhande from Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) got 135 votes .
Election took place on June 22, 2026 ,and result came same day after counting . Returning Officer and District Collector,Vinay Gauda G.C. announced results after vote count was completed.
In Aurangabad–Jalna Local Authorities' constituency,Suhas Shirsat clearly stayed far ahead . Independent candidate Isaq Khan Sandu Khan received 35 votes, and five votes were declared invalid . So margin itself tells enough about where elected local representatives leaned.
And this is not like normal Assembly election where public directly votes . These MLC polls for local authorities' constituencies are decided by elected representatives from municipal bodies,so it shows different kind of strength at ground level only.
Few things standing out clearly in this election:
- Mahayuti secured 16 out of 17 contested seats across state.
- Five Mahayuti candidates were elected unopposed .
- One setback came in Nashik, where BJP rebel Gokul Gite defeated official Shiv Sena candidate,Narendra Darade .
That Nashik result is actually interesting, tbh . Because on one side Mahayuti is looking very strong overall, but on other side rebel candidate defeating official Shiv Sena candidate shows internal tension is not fully invisible.
After 2024 Assembly elections, this MLC round was being watched closely because civic elections are coming next . And if local representatives are backing Mahayuti in this way,it does suggest alliance has strong hold on local governance structures.
But politics in Maharashtra rarely stays simple for long . Big win is one thing, keeping alliance workers, rebels and local ambitions under control is totally different game.
For now,Mahayuti has numbers, momentum and clear advantage . But that Nashik crack also sits there quietly in background… and maybe that is where next real test begins…
