So big news is out from Karnataka,D.K. Shivakumar has been sworn in as Chief Minister on June 3 . huge political shift for state, and everyone was watching .
His arrival itself was quite something . Senior Congress leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi were right there at HAL Airport in Bengaluru to welcome him. It really set tone for whole ceremony at Lok Bhavan .
And the event itself had a very warm atmosphere, not like some stiff political function . Shivakumar was personally giving bouquets to guests, chatting with all the big political figures there.
Upon reaching Lok Bhavan,he didn't just rush to stage . He took time to greet so many different people, including religious leaders and other dignitaries .
And tbh, this is where things got interesting.
He was seen taking blessings from Sri Nirmalanandanatha Swamiji and also from respected people like Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murty . This kind of gesture, mixing tradition with modern industry, shows he is trying to build bridges everywhere. Not small thing ah.
Few things that stood out from ceremony:
- Inclusive attendance with so many personalities from politics to film stars .
- Family support was clearly visible, his daughter spoke about pride and new responsibility .
- Regional representation was also there with leaders from Telangana attending .
And the guest list was something else . It had actor Shivarajkumar, former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, and many religious leaders. It felt like he was showing very broad coalition of support.
His daughter,Aishwarya Shivakumar, also spoke to media . She talked about family's pride in his achievement but also mentioned increased responsibility that comes with such post . She seemed optimistic about his style of governance .
This whole ceremony feels like more than just a leadership change only . It feels like start of a completely new chapter for Karnataka's politics. All this support from different sectors is good to see.
But now the real work begins, right? All these gestures of unity are one thing, but running state is another challenge altogether . What will be his first big move…
