So it looks like the long wait is over in Karnataka politics ah . D.K. Shivakumar is finally set to take oath as the next Chief Minister on June 3,2026 and Congress leaders are already praising his contributions big time .
And you can see why they are so happy about it . Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar was saying, "Whenever the party has faced trouble in the state,he has always helped Congress move forward . He is known even outside his state as fighting leader." This shows the kind of reputation he has built over years.
He's not just seen as a fighter but also as a unifier . Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari also had a lot to say . He was in Bengaluru for ceremony only.
Patwari pointed out,"D.K. Shivakumar played a crucial role in bringing the Congress party to power. He also set an example by respectfully and graciously supporting and accepting the tenure of Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister."
And tbh, this kind of support is what keeps a party together during difficult transitions. Not a small thing.
Seems like everyone is focusing on this unity angle.
- Leadership praised for strengthening the party during tough times.
- D.K. Shivakumar to take oath as CM at 4:05 PM today .
- His role in maintaining party cohesion is being highlighted by everyone .
Senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao also gave his take, saying this is not some sudden development . He said,"Last 21 years, there has been a process going on in Karnataka... The next Chief Minister is D.K. Shivakumar. Definitely, both will continue. Whatever the pre-election promises, they will definitely conduct welfare programs in the interest of people..."
So the message is clear: stability and continuing the work.
The swearing-in ceremony itself is happening at 4:05 PM at the Glass House in Lok Bhavan,Bengaluru . All big names like AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi are expected to be there. They are also inviting students, workers, and community leaders, which is a nice touch .
But now the real work starts . The praise is one thing, but delivering on all those pre-election promises is another game altogether… wonder how this new chapter will actually unfold for Karnataka.
