So the fight between CPI and CPI(M) is now fully out in open . whole drama over the Deputy Leader of Opposition post just blew up on June 3 and honestly,it shows the cracks in LDF alliance.
This isn't just some small disagreement ah . It's been building up for long time, especially during the whole decade-long Pinarayi Vijayan administration. These two parties have always had this kind of friction .
They even had a bilateral meeting to sort it out but that also ended without any solution . Now CPI is talking about sitting as a separate block in Assembly which is a very big step.
And CPI state secretary Binoy Viswam has made it very clear . He said the pressure inside party is huge and they are not ready to compromise with CPI(M) this time.
He gave one quote also: “The importance given to CPI within the LDF should be reflected in Assembly arrangements” . Which basically means they want their respect and position recognized.
But CPI(M) leadership is not budging . They have said they cannot give up the Deputy Opposition Leader position, and this shows the power struggle inside the coalition. This isn't new only, they've had these issues throughout both of Vijayan's terms.
Few key things to understand here:
- Recent talks between CPI and CPI(M) leaders failed completely .
- CPI is demanding the post because they feel it reflects their importance in LDF.
- This is part of longer history of conflicts during Vijayan's time in office.
I even remember during his first term,CPI ministers had boycotted Cabinet meetings to protest . So this pattern of public disagreement has been there for while.
And honestly, this is where things get uncomfortable for the Left Front . With Assembly session coming up,how are they going to manage this without it turning into a bigger crisis?
This whole standoff could really affect how stable and effective LDF is going forward . They have to work together but these internal fights keep happening…
