Bhiwandi may be heading into water trouble after one drilling mistake in ST Zone area turned into full public mess . And honestly,when drinking water pipeline bursts like this,it is not small thing ah,especially when so many localities depend on same supply .
Incident happened on Sunday afternoon during drilling work for Mahanagar Gas pipeline . During that work,drilling machinery reportedly hit main water line of Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation,and then water started gushing out badly on road.
Witnesses said powerful jet of water was shooting several feet into air . For some time,even vehicular movement in area got affected because streets were flooded and everyone was just watching treated drinking water getting wasted.
And this is where anger is understandable . One side people are told to save water,other side such huge quantity of already treated water gets lost because of poor coordination during utility work.

But problem is,if repair gets delayed,then many residents may have to manage without proper water supply for longer period . Municipal authorities have already urged people in affected areas to conserve water till normal supply is restored.
And tbh,this whole episode again shows same old issue between utility companies and civic agencies . Excavation,drilling,road cutting… all these works happen everywhere,but supervision cannot be casual when main public services are running underground.
Local residents are now asking for better checking during such work,and that demand feels completely fair . Because today it is one pipeline,one locality,one Sunday afternoon… tomorrow who knows what else gets hit like this…
