So Asaram Bapu is back in news again,and it's for the same reason we keep hearing about . Hospital admission .
He was taken from Central Jail in Jodhpur to Arogyam Hospital on Tuesday night . Of course,with heavy police security around him. Hospital officials confirmed he was admitted for medical treatment.
And this whole thing happened just after he was brought back to Jodhpur . Rajasthan High Court had just upheld his life sentence in that minor sexual assault case,so timing is always interesting in these situations.
And honestly,this is where things get uncomfortable. His team keeps asking for treatment due to health issues,but courts have been very clear.
I was reading what the court said when rejecting his bail plea earlier . They said,"The accused's imprisonment is confined within walls,but the mental trauma and lifelong suffering inflicted upon the victim know no such boundaries." That line really says everything ah .
Few things standing out rn:
- High Court has upheld his life sentence,so conviction is solid.
- Hospitalization is happening because his legal team cited health concerns.
- This whole case has been going on since August 2013 only.
But what's really wild is that when he arrived in Jodhpur on May 28,his supporters actually gathered at the airport for him . After a quick stop at his Pal village ashram,he surrendered to the jail.
This divided public opinion is something I will never understand . The court has given a verdict,a life sentence,but for some people it just doesn't matter.
This case just keeps dragging on,and every few months there is some new development,usually about his health or some legal appeal . It feels like it's been going on forever.
And you have to wonder,with all these legal battles and hospital visits,what is the real state of his health and how does this affect the ongoing legal process… it just raises so many questions…
