Just saw some really heavy news about Palestinian Authority making direct appeal to India for help . And honestly,the situation they are describing sounds like complete nightmare.
Ambassador Abdullah M. Abu Shawesh held a press conference on June 19,2026 and he laid out the catastrophic conditions in hospitals in Gaza and West Bank . He said this is because of nearly three years of military campaigns by Israel.
And they are specifically asking India to extend its Aarogya Maitri project to them . This project is meant to provide essential medical supplies to countries in crisis,so it's a direct plea for humanitarian aid .
The ambassador's words were very powerful tbh . He said,“It is the exact moment to save thousands of innocent lives. If not India and the Indian people,then who? If not now,then when? Every life matters.”
This is not a small appeal ah. The healthcare sector there needs medicines and supplies worth about $100 million . He pointed out that out of 520 essential medicines,almost 180 are just not available . Even 50 out of 97 cancer treatments are missing .
