This story about the viral Kumbh Mela couple,Monalisa Bhosle and her husband,is getting so complicated now . Kerala High Court has stepped in,and it's a whole legal drama .
So basically,the court just granted transit anticipatory bail to her husband,Mohammed Farmaan . This is happening because Monalisa's father has raised some very serious allegations,which led to Madhya Pradesh Police filing a criminal case.
Justice Kauser Edappagath has given Farmaan one month’s protection from arrest . This isn't final win for him ah,it’s just a window for him to go to the courts in Madhya Pradesh and try to get regular anticipatory bail there.
And during the hearing,Farmaan's lawyer,M. Sasindran,was arguing that all allegations against his client were baseless . He said the couple just fell in love while they were filming together and then decided to get married in Neyyattinkara,Kerala.
But the prosecution's story is completely different . They are claiming that Monalisa was actually a minor at time of their marriage . And that Farmaan got their marriage certificate through fraudulent means.
And honestly,this is where things get uncomfortable.
The couple is fighting back in court,of course . They showed Monalisa's Aadhaar card and other ID to prove her age at time of marriage . They also said they are scared of what might happen if they go back to Madhya Pradesh,even mentioning possible honor violence.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- One month protection — court grants temporary relief allowing Farmaan to seek bail .
- Serious allegations — charges include abduction,forgery,and violations of child protection laws.
- Monalisa's defense — she asserts her adulthood and provided documentation to support her claims.
To make things even more messy,the Additional Solicitor General S.V. Raju argued that the Kerala High Court doesn't even have jurisdiction to hear this case . He said case is from Madhya Pradesh and mentioned Supreme Court ruling and statutory restrictions under the SC/ST Act.
So the Kerala court's order is crucial temporary relief for Farmaan right now . But all bigger questions about the marriage,her real age,and those very serious allegations from Madhya Pradesh Police are still just hanging in the air.
This whole thing feels less like a legal case and more like one very difficult family situation that has spilled out into public view . The fact that she has also challenged cancellation of her birth certificate in Madhya Pradesh High Court just adds another layer to it all.
The legal battle is far from over for them… who knows how this will all end up...
