So finally some big news coming for Telangana road infrastructure . government under PM Narendra Modi has approved two major highway projects with a total cost of ₹7,597 crore, which is not small amount ah.
And this is for widening two very busy sections of National Highways . We're talking about the Armoor-Jagtial-Mancherial section on NH-63 and the Jagtial-Karimnagar section on NH-563. Together it's around 190.76 km of road getting upgraded.
Anyone who travels on these routes knows situation rn . traffic congestion is just terrible, especially when you pass through built-up areas like Anksapoor,Korutla,Potharam and Gangadhara . It's a real bottleneck.
So plan is to make these roads 4-lane standard . This should ease up traffic a lot and the design speed is for 100 km per hour which sounds amazing.
And honestly, the promised benefits are quite significant.
- Travel time between Armoor and Mancherial will supposedly reduce by 1.5 hours .
- They are projecting it will create 34.43 lakh man-days of direct employment .
- Less traffic and better roads should also mean lower fuel use and carbon emissions.
This whole thing is apparently part of that bigger PM GatiShakti plan to improve connectivity across country . They say it will connect five economic nodes, seven social nodes, and ten logistic nodes in the state.
But it's more than just about making travel faster for passengers . It's also about moving goods more efficiently.
This is supposed to help improve India's Logistic Performance Index (LPI),which is basically a score for how easy it is to do transport and trade . Better roads definitely help with that.
Still, approval is one thing and implementation is another story completely . We have seen so many projects get delayed for different reasons .
The main hope is that this actually solves traffic problem on ground and boosts the local economy like they are saying . But you always wonder about the execution, how long it will really take…
