So it looks like the big Indian IT companies are finally going all-in on AI . Not just talking, but actually deploying it on massive scale. TCS,Infosys, and Wipro are leading this whole thing.
And the numbers are honestly quite huge. We are talking about over 300,000 employees using Microsoft's 365 Copilot, and that too in just six months . This is being called one of biggest enterprise AI rollouts anywhere in world.
Apparently each of these companies scaled up really fast. They went from about 50,000 employees on Copilot back in December 2025 to over 100,000 active users now. That kind of speed shows they are very serious about this .
And tbh, this is not just some experiment anymore. It's becoming core part of how they work .
Microsoft's own CEO for Commercial Business,Judson Althoff, said that AI is reshaping how companies function and grow . And looking at these numbers,it seems he is right .
Few things standing out from the reports:
- Infosys has insane engagement with over 91% of employees actively using Copilot.
- TCS reported big 20-25% productivity boost in tasks like research and content creation.
- Wipro is saving huge amount of time, over 250,000 full-time work days every quarter.
The individual company stats are also pretty revealing. Wipro employees are generating around 7.5 million prompts every month . At TCS,over 100,000 associates have access and 86% are using it in their daily work routines. This shows it’s not just a tool they have, but one they are actually using .
And let's not forget these are massive companies we're talking about . TCS with market cap of ₹8.22 lakh crore,Infosys at ₹4.95 lakh crore, and Wipro at ₹2.17 lakh crore as of Wednesday . When they make such big moves,it sets a trend for entire sector.
Microsoft is now saying next step is to push AI even deeper into client delivery and business workflows . It’s moving from add-on to a foundational part of business.
Makes you think what this means for the future of IT jobs ah… if everyone is getting a 25% boost, what happens to the work itself…
