This Spain political story is getting seriously messy now . On June 20,2026,Begoña Gomez,wife of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez,was ordered to stand trial on serious corruption charges,and honestly,this is not small thing ah .
Investigating judge Juan Carlos Peinado has told her to appear in court twice a month . Along with that,she has also been restricted from leaving Spain,which makes whole case feel even more intense.
The allegation is that Gomez misused her position as Prime Minister's spouse to secure lucrative work contracts . She has denied any wrongdoing,but case itself has already created big political noise because it was initiated by far-right groups.
And tbh,this is where politics and court case are mixing in very uncomfortable way . Sanchez has not been implicated in any wrongdoing,but pressure around his government is clearly increasing as more corruption inquiries keep coming up.

So even if Sanchez personally is not accused,shadow around his administration is getting heavier .
