So it’s finally official,Rasmus Hojlund is a Napoli player for good . Manchester United made the announcement on June 3,2026,and honestly,it’s not a surprise but still feels a bit strange .
This whole thing happened after his amazing season-long loan with them . He scored 16 goals in 44 matches, which is not small thing ah. He really found his form in Italy.
And that performance was so important for Napoli . They got Champions League qualification, and apparently that was part of deal to make his transfer permanent. He really delivered when it mattered most.
During his time there, the 23-year-old striker also helped them win the Supercoppa Italiana and finish as runners-up in Serie A . He became a key player for them so fast.
And tbh, this move just feels right for him at this point in his career.
He even said that his goal that secured the Champions League spot felt like a turning point for him . He also gave a very emotional farewell to Manchester United fans, saying it was a club he dreamt of playing for since he was kid.
Some key things from this whole deal:
- Hojlund's goals were critical in Napoli’s title chase and getting that CL spot .
- He gave a heartfelt thank you to Manchester United fans for their support.
- Securing Champions League football was a condition for his permanent move.
I saw his quote for Napoli fans also,he said "The way you fans supported me,made me feel at home and let me find my confidence again is something I’m so grateful for." You can tell he really felt good there .
But let's not forget,he came to Man United from Atalanta back in summer of 2023 . He had a great record there too,26 goals in 95 appearances. The talent was always there.
Now he is starting this new chapter with Napoli FC,looking for new dreams . The club and fans are obviously very excited to see what he does next… but it does make you think what Man United's plan is now for their attack…
