This Indore vehicle theft case is actually wild because police did not just catch one stolen bike, they ended up recovering 14 stolen motorcycles from one interstate vehicle thief . And out of those,13 were Royal Enfield Bullet bikes, worth around ₹50 lakh . Not small thing ah.
Police arrested Kanhaiyalal Lahaur during night patrol on June 21,2026,near Race Course Road . Officers reportedly got suspicious because Lahaur tried to evade them, and that one moment seems to have opened whole chain of theft cases .
And then came fake registration number plate angle . Police checked motorcycle through E-Rakshak app and verified chassis and engine numbers . That is when they found bike was stolen from Tukoganj area .
During questioning,Lahaur reportedly confessed that he had stolen motorcycle from 56 Dukan locality just days before . After that, police started connecting him with more thefts across city .
Few things standing out in this case:
- Kanhaiyalal Lahaur was found with 14 stolen motorcycles, including 13 Royal Enfield Bullet bikes .
- Stolen bikes were valued at around ₹50 lakh .
- Police also recovered 12 keys,a fake number plate,a helmet, and a bag from his possession.
And honestly, his method was simple but dangerous. Lahaur allegedly used duplicate keys to unlock motorcycles parked in isolated spots and crowded areas . That means he was not depending on chance only,he had proper pattern .
Police also said he used fake registration plates to avoid detection . That part makes whole thing more serious because once number plate changes, common person will not even suspect bike is stolen.
Further interrogation reportedly linked thefts to several areas like Hira Nagar,Vijay Nagar,MG Road,Sanyogitaganj,Khajrana,Aerodrome, and Ujjain . So this was not one small locality issue,it looks like repeated activity across different places.
Now police believe more vehicle theft cases may get solved after this arrest . And yes, owners will be hoping their stolen bikes come back, but at same time question is how many such bikes already moved around with fake plates before anyone noticed…
