This Lucknow coaching centre fire is honestly very painful to even read about . A place where students went for studies turned into panic zone within minutes, and 14 individuals lost their lives in Aliganj area on Monday afternoon .
Fire reportedly broke out around 3 PM and then smoke spread fast inside building . Students were trapped, people outside were shouting, and eyewitnesses said some students jumped from building because flames and thick smoke were spreading so quickly.
And that image itself is disturbing ah. Young students jumping just to survive, parents and local people standing outside helplessly, waiting for any news… this is not small thing.
Rescue teams reached spot and eight fire tenders were deployed to control blaze and bring out those stuck inside . But situation was already very chaotic, with several others injured and many people fearing worst as operation continued.
Few things standing out in this tragedy:
- 14 individuals died after fire erupted at coaching centre in Aliganj area of Lucknow .
- Fire broke out around 3 PM,and eyewitnesses said students jumped from building to escape.
- Local residents estimated that 20 to 25 students were still feared to be trapped within structure.
Videos circulating on social media showed anxious crowds outside building, and that tells you how terrifying those hours must have been . Families not knowing whether their children were safe or still inside, that kind of waiting can break anyone.
Senior officials also reached site, including Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, who visited to assess situation and coordinate rescue efforts . Firefighters kept working late into day as fire was brought under partial control, but search and rescue efforts were still going on.
PM Modi and CM Adityanath expressed sorrow over tragedy on social media platforms . Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also announced support, with financial assistance from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF): ₹2 lakh for families of each deceased victim and ₹50,000 for those injured.
Cause of fire has not been confirmed yet, though local residents suggested that it may have been sparked by an electrical issue . Authorities have started investigation, but honestly, this again raises same uncomfortable question about safety standards in coaching centres and educational buildings.
Because if students are forced to jump from building during fire, then something has already failed badly somewhere . And now families are left with grief, while everyone waits to know what exactly went wrong inside that building…
