K. Shivakumar finally stepping into Chief Minister role on June 3 is not small political moment . For many Congress people,this feels like long pending recognition only .
Congress MLA Vijay Wadettiwar has openly backed him and said Shivakumar has stood with party when things were tough . His quote says it clearly,"Whenever party has faced trouble in the state, he has always helped Congress move forward."
And honestly,that line explains why many inside Congress see him as more than just another leader . He has image of someone who holds organisation together when pressure is high,especially in Karnataka politics where loyalty and timing both matter lot.
His refusal to join BJP has also become part of his political identity . That famous line,"I would prefer to go to jail, but I will not join the BJP." is being remembered again now,because supporters see it as proof that he did not bend when situation was difficult.

- Oath ceremony will be at 4:05 PM on June 3.
- Venue is Glass House in Lok Bhavan,Bengaluru.
- AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will be present,along with students,civic workers,and representatives from various social groups.
But this is not just about ceremony and garlands. Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari also spoke about Shivakumar's role in governance and party organisation . He praised economic progress made under previous Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and also highlighted respectful transition in leadership .
And tbh,that part matters because Karnataka Congress has seen many power balance discussions . If Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar camp manage this without open friction,it gives party some breathing space.
At same time,BJP is not staying quiet. BJP Bihar State President Sanjay Saraogi said Chief Minister appointment is internal Congress matter,but also claimed mood is shifting against ruling party . His words were,"An atmosphere is being created against Congress party,and current situation shows that in the upcoming elections,common people and voters are looking towards Bharatiya Janata Party."
So yes,June 3 is being projected as D.K. Shivakumar's big moment,but politics does not stop at oath stage only . Now real question is whether this change brings stability for Congress in Karnataka,or opens another round of pressure from inside and outside…
