One interesting update has come from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD),and honestly, this one is not about rush, darshan queues or laddu talk . This time,TTD has looked at Yoga and how it is affecting people’s health in real life .
The study is titled “Effect of Protocoled Yoga on Health and Quality of Life,” and it was directed by Muddada Ravichandra ahead of International Day of Yoga on June 21,2026 . That timing also makes sense, because Yoga discussion usually becomes louder around this day only.
And study was not done with just few people ah . It involved 2,000 participants, including employees, students, and senior citizens . All of them followed structured Yoga program for two weeks .
They practiced Common Yoga Protocol, which included loosening exercises,Yogasanas,Pranayama, and meditation . Sessions happened at 12 different locations, and main focus was synchronized breathing plus better general health.
After Yoga practice, participants filled questionnaire about changes in their health and quality of life . And tbh, numbers are quite interesting here.
- 86% reported better sleep quality — indicating significant improvements in restfulness.
- 87% noted enhanced concentration — showcasing improved cognitive function after Yoga .
- 90% expressed willingness to continue Yoga — highlighting the program's positive reception .
Other results also showed positive side of this whole exercise . 84% reported improved digestion,89% noted positive changes in mood and mental well-being,82% reported enhanced relationships with family and friends, and overall quality of life improved for 88% of participants .
Dr. R.V. Kumar,Director of TTD's SVIMS super-specialty hospital, noted that these findings show why Yoga should become part of daily routines . And when 90% people say they want to continue,it does say something about how they felt after two weeks .
But at same time, real question is whether people continue Yoga after study ends . Because starting for two weeks is one thing, turning it into daily habit is completely different story…
