Another horrible accident has come from Chhindwara,Madhya Pradesh and honestly, this one feels painful because victims were reportedly laborers just going for work . Five people dead,at least 20 injured… all in matter of few moments .
The accident happened on June 22,2026,on Chhindwara-Betul National Highway near Tamri village . As per reports,a speeding truck collided with pick-up van which was transporting laborers.
And this is not small thing ah . These are people who step out early for daily work, mostly without much safety or comfort, and then one road crash changes everything for families waiting back home.
According to Aftab Khan, the police station house officer at Lawaghoghri, five individuals died immediately in accident, including three women . Emergency responders reached spot quickly and injured people were shifted to nearby medical facilities for urgent care .
Few facts standing out in this case:
- Five people, including three women, lost their lives in accident.
- 20 individuals were taken to hospitals for medical attention.
- One injured person was reported to be in critical condition and will be referred to medical college in Nagpur for further treatment .
Civil surgeon Sushil Dubey also confirmed casualties and injuries, and said accident took place around 10:00 AM . He noted that quick response from emergency services helped in giving necessary medical treatment to injured people.
Police have taken bodies into custody for post-mortem examinations, and investigation is going on into what exactly led to collision . Whether it was overspeeding, road condition, driver error or something else, authorities are still looking into circumstances.
But tbh,how many times will we keep hearing same kind of story from highways in Madhya Pradesh and other states too? Laborers packed into vehicles, heavy trucks speeding, roads not always safe, and then after tragedy everyone talks about stricter traffic enforcement.
And families of these five people are now left with questions which no investigation report can fully answer . One morning they went to work, and by 10:00 AM,everything had already changed…
