This Delhi-Mumbai Expressway accident near Badlapur is honestly very disturbing because two young friends lost their lives after what was supposed to be just birthday celebration . One late-night drive,one speeding BMW,and everything changed within seconds.
On June 21,Yogesh Negi (26) from Badlapur and Rebecca Jacob (24) from Bandra were returning from birthday celebration when car crashed in early hours . Both died in accident,and one more person,Angad,was critically injured.
Eyewitnesses have said BMW was moving at more than 250 kmph before driver lost control . That number itself is scary ah,because at that speed even one small mistake can turn road into disaster.
According to reports,the BMW veered off course and hit road divider with huge impact . Luxury sedan was left completely wrecked,with debris scattered across highway . This was not small crash,it sounds like full violent impact.
Few things standing out clearly in this case:
- Eyewitnesses said BMW was seen speeding several times before crash .
- Police are checking possible alcohol involvement during accident .
- Vehicle has been seized for forensic and mechanical examination.
And tbh,this is where whole road safety discussion becomes uncomfortable . Newly built expressways feel smooth and empty at night,but that same comfort also pushes some people to drive like there is no limit only.
Angad,who was behind wheel during incident,is now being treated at Jupiter Hospital in Thane . He is reportedly out of danger,but his statement is still pending because of medical condition.
Police are also checking whether airbags deployed properly during crash . Since Angad survived while Yogesh Negi (26) and Rebecca Jacob (24) died,it has raised questions around vehicle safety features also.
At same time,witness accounts saying car was speeding before accident cannot be ignored . Speeding at night,possible alcohol angle,highway conditions,car safety,everything now has to be looked at properly .
And this is what feels heavy… two families lost young people after one birthday outing,and now everyone is left asking whether this was just accident or something that was waiting to happen…
