So Shahid Kapoor is back with a romance film, and honestly,it feels like it's been a long time. But this new one,`Teri Baaton Main Aisa Uljha Jiya`,is not your usual rom-com . It has some kind of sci-fi angle which sounds pretty interesting .
And it's wild to think he has been in industry for nearly two decades now. He spoke about his whole journey in recent interview, about moving from that typical lover boy image to the more serious, intense actor we see today .
He even joked about it,saying,"The beard took time to grow!" And he's not wrong ah. For years,he was just chocolate boy. It must have been difficult to get people to see him differently .
But he said it was a very conscious effort. He mentioned,"I had to work not just on my acting but also on changing the silhouette." Basically,he had to change his whole look from that boyish vibe to more mature man to get those performance-oriented roles .
And tbh, that kind of dedication is what sets some actors apart. It’s not just about acting,it's about building a whole new perception.
Few things he talked about in interview:
- Exploration of love — He feels love is very complex thing that changes as you get older and grow in relationships.
- Resisting typecasting — He stressed on showing his acting talent more than just his physical appearance.
- Unique film concept — The movie mixes romance and sci-fi to give audience something new and fresh.
Shahid also got a bit philosophical about love itself . He said,"Love has always been a tricky thing, isn’t it? Either you understand it or you don’t."
And he feels his own understanding has become deeper after his marriage and becoming father. He believes that once you have children, the whole dynamic of love shifts and you start to understand relationships on a completely different level.
The film is set to release on February 9,2024,and he seems genuinely excited to bring this story to everyone . He’s hoping it gives a new take on romance in our cinema.
But you have to wonder, after doing so many dark and intense roles like Kabir Singh and in Farzi,is it easy for an actor to just switch back to a light-hearted love story, even if it has a twist…
