Finally, some proper monsoon update for Pune after almost two weeks of waiting . And honestly, after so much humidity and random pre-monsoon showers, this news will feel like relief for many people .
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD),southwest monsoon has made its way back to Pune after pause of nearly two weeks . On June 22,IMD officials said conditions are now favourable for monsoon to strengthen, especially across different parts of Maharashtra from June 24.
The monsoon line has now reached through important areas like Alibaug,Pune, and Nizamabad . This means system is slowly pushing ahead into state again after being stuck for some time.
Weather expert Krishnanand Hosalikar also said monsoon is becoming more active over South Konkan and western Maharashtra . Districts mentioned include Sindhudurg,Ratnagiri,Kolhapur,Satara,Sangli, and Pune.
Few things standing out in this update:
- Rainfall activity is expected to increase between June 24 and June 28.
- Better rainfall may improve water availability for farming activities in region.
- Favourable weather systems are developing, helping monsoon move into more interior parts of Maharashtra.
And tbh, this pause was getting uncomfortable ah . Past 15 days saw monsoon progress being slowed down because of El Niño effect, dry air intrusion, and lack of low-pressure systems.
Now those conditions are easing,so monsoon is expected to move further north into interior regions of Maharashtra . For Pune residents dealing with sticky weather, this could bring much-needed break from high humidity.
But for farmers, this is more than just pleasant weather only . Rainfall from June 24 onward can matter lot for sowing, water availability, and overall agriculture in area.
At same time, monsoon updates always come with some uncertainty . Pune may finally get proper rain now,but how evenly it spreads and how much relief it actually gives… that part we will understand only in coming days…
