First exam tension, then alleged paper leak controversy, and then again same pressure on June 21,2026 .
The re-exam was conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) across 15 designated centers in district . Out of 7,092 registered candidates,5,364 actually appeared, while 1,728 stayed absent . Attendance came to 75.7%,which is not small number ah,especially after all confusion around earlier exam .
And this whole thing started because of concerns over alleged paper leak during initial examination held on May 3 . Because of that, candidates got another chance to retake test and maybe improve their scores.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- In Coimbatore,5,364 candidates appeared out of 7,092 registered, with overall attendance at 75.7%.
- 1,728 candidates opted not to appear for re-examination.
- In Tiruppur district,2,829 appeared out of 3,650 registered,while 821 were absent.
Students who wrote exam had mixed reactions, but many said Biology section was easier compared to Physics and Chemistry . That itself says lot because in NEET,one tough section can change entire mood after coming out of exam hall.
R. Sridevi,a student from Government Higher Secondary School in Kallapalayam, said several questions mirrored those from earlier exam . And tbh, that must have felt strange for students also, because they are already writing re-exam due to controversy around earlier paper .
Another candidate,M. Thirumalar, said he had already enrolled in biotechnology course amid paper leak allegations, but still came for re-exam hoping to possibly improve his results . That shows how uncertain this whole phase has been for students, where people are making backup plans and still not fully letting go of medical dream.
Reports said atmosphere at examination centers was calm,so at least students could focus without disturbances . In nearby Tiruppur district also,re-exam happened with 3,650 registered candidates,2,829 appearing and 821 absent.
But still, behind these numbers there is lot of mental pressure only . Some students came back to fight for better score, some skipped, and some are probably still wondering whether system gave them fair chance or just one more round of stress…
