This was honestly one of those public visit stories which looks simple on surface, but says lot about what is happening at ground level . On June 20, 2026,MP Byreddy Shabari actually stepped into role of anganwadi teacher in Nandyal, and interacted with small children through games, singing and handwriting practice.
And I feel this kind of visit hits differently because anganwadi centers are not just about one classroom or one meal . For many children, that is first place where learning, food, hygiene and social habits start together .
During her visit to anganwadi centers in Kothapalli village,Shabari inspected facilities available for expectant mothers, pregnant women and children . She also spoke about hygiene in these centers, and honestly, that part cannot be treated lightly ah. If place meant for children and mothers is not clean, then whole purpose gets weakened.
She also highlighted how these centers help prepare children for formal education . Parents were urged to use government resources properly for children's health and education needs, which is fair because many schemes exist, but people either don't know fully or don't attend regularly.
While interacting with children,Shabari spoke about government providing nutritious food items like milk and eggs at anganwadi centers . She said these efforts are meant to support both mental and physical development of children, and also help them learn basic skills through fun activities instead of pressure.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- MP Byreddy Shabari took part in games, singing and handwriting practice with children in Nandyal.
- She inspected facilities for expectant mothers, pregnant women and children at anganwadi centers in Kothapalli village.
- She stressed hygiene, nutritious food like milk and eggs, and regular attendance at anganwadi centers.
But same day also had another side . Earlier,Shabari and District Collector Rajakumari Ganiya took part in ‘Swarna Andhra - Swachha Andhra’ programme, focused on improving cleanliness in region. Shabari was not happy with sanitation situation near railway station and told officials to step up cleaning work.
And tbh,her saying she will return within a week to check improvements is main thing here . Because many times officials visit, express anger, photos happen, and then issue slowly disappears . Follow-up is where real test comes.
Ganiya explained that ‘Operation Clean Sweep’ has been going on for four weeks to remove accumulated waste in Nandyal . She also asked public to avoid plastic usage and treat cleanliness like lifestyle choice, not one-day campaign only.
Local officials including Nandyal Municipal Commissioner Bandi Seshanna and Central Food Corporation Director Narahari Viswanath Reddy were also part of these efforts . Now question is whether this energy will continue after visit is over,or whether same garbage and same hygiene issues will quietly come back again…
