This is one of those political statements which instantly creates noise,because allegation itself is not small ah . Mallikarjun Kharge has now claimed that ₹5,000 crore was misused in construction of Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya,and naturally,this has started fresh debate .
He made these remarks during installation ceremony of new Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president,B.K. Hariprasad . And instead of keeping speech limited to party matters,Kharge directly went after temple fund issue.
According to him,the temple was not built only for religious reasons,but was also used as way to siphon money . He demanded proper investigation to find out who all were involved in this alleged scam.
And honestly,the sharpest part was when he raised question about old collections also . Kharge said,“Nobody gave any account of money collected after (L.K.) Advani’s Rath Yatra.” That line will obviously be picked up politically because it directly questions long-running temple fund transparency.
Few things he clearly pushed in speech:

- Concerns over financial transparency around temple funds.
- Criticism of government policies and public issues linked to this larger charge.
Kharge also pointed out that Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,and he criticised what he called lack of transparency in financial dealings . His argument was that money collected in name of religious devotion should have clear account,not confusion.
But he did not stop at temple issue only . He connected this with broader attack on government,saying people are pushed to vote on religion and faith,while looting is happening in name of dharma .
He also brought up education sector and said government mismanagement reached level where it was forced to conduct NEET examination a second time . So his speech was not just about temple funds,it became attack on whole governance style .
And tbh,this kind of allegation is politically explosive because it mixes religion,money and elections in one frame . Whether there will actually be investigation or this will remain another loud political charge… that question is still hanging there…
