It has been going on since June 17 and by June 20,2026,city had to declare state of emergency.
Fire reportedly broke out inside massive 500,000-square-foot frozen food warehouse in Boyle Heights neighborhood . That itself sounds like nightmare for firefighters because large warehouse fires are never simple,and this one has thick black smoke spreading into air.
Mayor Karen Bass called it a "major,multi-jurisdictional incident," and that wording tells enough about how serious situation became . Not one small local fire department issue only,but something needing many teams and resources together.
And this is where things get more concerning ah . Los Angeles Fire Department said fire is being worsened by burning foam insulation,suspected ammonia leaks,and melting solar panels . So crews are not just dealing with flames,but also materials making whole operation more complicated .
