One alarming scene came from Udupi Court Complex after an email claimed that bomb was placed inside court premises . And honestly, even if it later turned out fake, this kind of message is enough to create panic in seconds.
The email was reportedly sent previous evening, and on June 22,the Chief Administrative Officer found it after arriving at office . Once message was noticed, local police were alerted quickly because nobody can take such threat casually ah .
And then whole court complex went into security mode.
K.U. Belliappa ,the Deputy Superintendent of Police, coordinated search operation at court premises . Bomb disposal unit and dog squad were brought in,and officials checked area properly to make sure court staff and visitors were safe.
Few things standing out in this incident:
- Email claimed bomb was placed in Udupi Court Complex.
- Bomb disposal squad and dog unit were deployed for full search .
- Police later confirmed threat was hoax and filed case against unidentified sender.
Inspector Mahesh Prasad and Sub-Inspector Bharatesh Kankanwadi were also part of response, and police worked through premises before allowing normal court work to resume . Thankfully, nothing dangerous was found.
But tbh, this is still not small thing . Even one fake bomb email can stop public work, scare people badly and pull police resources away from other real emergencies.
Udupi police have now registered case against unidentified sender under Sections 351(4) and 353(1)(b) of the Bombs and Explosives Act . That part matters because creating panic like this is not some prank only,it has legal consequences.
And at same time, incident shows how public places like courts remain vulnerable to such sudden threats through email and other forms . Police have reassured community about safety, but question is still there… who sent that email, and why…
