Ashoka Women and Children’s Hospital in Nashik has inaugurated Maharashtra’s first advanced Minimally Invasive Gynaecological Surgery (MIGS) department, and for women in North Maharashtra, this can actually matter a lot .
This new department is coming with technology like 2D,3D,4K,and ICG fluorescence imaging . Now on paper these sound like big medical terms, but simple meaning is better visibility, better precision and safer surgery possibilities for doctors.
Inauguration was attended by Mumbai-based gynaecologist and laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Makrand Masrani, along with Director Dr . Sushil Parakh and Medical Superintendent Dr. Kishor Tile . So yes, this was not just small hospital upgrade ah,it is being projected as serious step for women’s healthcare in region.
And main thing here is access . Many women from Nashik and nearby areas usually have to travel to bigger cities for advanced gynaecological procedures . If same kind of treatment becomes available locally, that reduces travel stress, cost burden and delay in care.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- MIGS department will perform hysteroscopic myomectomy, total laparoscopic hysterectomy, and more.
- 2D,3D,4K,and ICG fluorescence imaging are being used for better surgical precision and safety.
- Minimally invasive techniques can mean reduced surgical trauma and quicker recovery times.
Dr. Sushil Parakh said this department will also include tubal evaluation and fertility-preserving endoscopic procedures . That part is actually very relevant, because fertility-related treatment is still something many families delay due to travel, expense or hesitation.
Dr. Sandip Sonawane also noted that advanced imaging technologies allow safer and more precise surgical interventions, which should help patients in recovery also . And tbh, when it comes to women’s health, less invasive procedure and faster recovery is not just medical benefit,it affects family life, work, mental stress, everything.
Dr. Makrand Masrani praised establishment of MIGS department and highlighted its potential to revolutionize gynaecological treatment in region . Big words yes,but if facility is used properly and remains accessible to regular patients, then impact can be real .
Ashoka Hospital is clearly trying to set new benchmark in women’s healthcare with this launch . But now actual question is how many women across Nashik and surrounding areas will be able to use these services without fear of cost, delay or lack of awareness…
