Congress Leaders Warn Cadre Against RSS-BJP Influence in Karnataka

Key Takeaways

  • Congress leaders warn against RSS-BJP influence
  • Emphasis on voter rights and party discipline
  • Urgent call for unity ahead of elections

This Karnataka Congress event clearly became more than just one installation ceremony . And honestly, the mood sounded very tense because leaders were not talking like this is normal party program only.

At installation ceremony for B.K. Hariprasad as new Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, senior Congress faces like Chief Minister D.K . Shivakumar and party president Mallikarjun Kharge raised serious alarm over growing influence of RSS and BJP in Karnataka . That itself shows Congress is feeling pressure from multiple sides .

And biggest worry seems to be this ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) by Election Commission . Congress leaders fear this voter-related exercise can be used by opposition parties in way that damages them before next election .

Kharge said it very directly: “If we fail to regain power in the next election, the future of country is at stake. RSS and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are leading our nation down a troubling path.” Strong words ah,not small political attack .

He also went after Modi administration for divisive politics and even compared Modi’s governance style to authoritarian regimes, saying democratic values are under threat . Whether someone agrees or not, this kind of language shows Congress is treating this as survival fight now .

Few points stood out from whole event:

  • Voter enumeration concerns — 91 lakh voters deleted in West Bengal,64 lakh in Tamil Nadu.
  • Discipline within party — Kharge emphasized need for unity and order.
  • Countering divisive politics — Leaders urged members to protect democratic values.

And D.K. Shivakumar also pushed same message, asking party workers to complete enumeration forms properly so votes are counted . He pointed to voter deletions in other states and suggested similar tactics could happen in Karnataka too .

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah also joined in,saying BJP politics rooted in culture and religion is aimed at breaking unity of nation . He argued Congress has historically supported regional parties and has not played same kind of divisive politics .

But one awkward moment came when Kharge got frustrated over disruptive chanting during his speech . That part says lot also, because while leaders are warning about outside threats, inside discipline itself seems to be issue.

And maybe that is bigger problem for Congress rn . They are talking about RSS,BJP,SIR,voter deletions and democracy, but if party workers are not united at same stage, how will they handle bigger fight outside…
