This whole property allegation matter around Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and her husband, retired bureaucrat Rajneesh Goel, has now taken very direct turn . And honestly, their response is not soft or vague at all .
On June 21,2026,they issued statement after Hindu reported claims about alleged encroachment and unauthorized use of their residence in MCHS Layout,HSR Sector-6 . The couple has rejected those allegations firmly, calling them "wholly false, unsubstantiated and based on conjecture," which is pretty strong wording .
And their main point is simple only. They say property was not allocated by Bangalore Development Authority (BDA),as alleged in complaint to Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) . Instead, they claim it was legally bought through registered sale deed from Metropolitan Co-operative Housing Society Ltd.
They also said all legal formalities were followed during acquisition . Basically, their argument is that this is not some irregular allotment case, but normal purchase with documents and approvals in place.
Few key things they are saying clearly:
- Legal allocation confirmed — The property was acquired through a registered sale deed.
- Construction within boundaries — All structures comply with sanctioned plans and approvals.
- No encroachment on public land — couple denies any unauthorized use of civic amenities or footpaths .
And tbh, this is where matter becomes very document-heavy. If sale deed, sanctioned plan and layout approval all support their version, then allegations become harder to sustain . But if complaint has different records, then issue will not die so easily.
They also denied any commercial activity at premises . According to them, property is rented out, which they say is allowed under housing society's regulations, while they themselves are currently staying in government-allotted quarters.
On footpath encroachment claim, the couple said approved layout plan does not show any designated footpath next to their property . They said site is adjacent to storm-water drain and constructions are within legal limits . They also mentioned residents individually maintain roadside greenery .
But public reaction in such cases is always tricky ah . When senior officials are involved, people naturally expect extra transparency, not just legal denial . At same time, allegation alone cannot become proof.
For now,it feels like whole matter depends on documents, layout maps and what BMTF or other authorities verify next . Till then, this remains one of those cases where both perception and paperwork are standing face to face…
