This Telangana infrastructure claim is quite big ah. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, has said at “Intellectuals Conference” in Karimnagar that Central government has invested nearly ₹1.15 lakh crore in highway development projects in Telangana over past twelve years .
And honestly, when numbers are this huge, people will obviously react from both sides . Some will say yes, roads and connectivity have improved. Others will ask where exactly all this money has gone and how much difference common people are feeling daily .
Kumar also said Telangana received approximately ₹1.18 lakh crore in Central tax shares and nearly ₹1 lakh crore in grants-in-aid . That is not small amount only. These figures are being presented as proof that Centre has been putting serious money into state infrastructure.
Coming to highways,he mentioned construction of over 5,000 kilometers of highways at estimated cost of ₹31,000 crore . He also spoke about Bharatmala Pariyojana, under which highway corridors spanning 1,719 kilometers have been approved with budget allocation of ₹38,297 crore .
Few major points from his address:
- New Charlapalli Terminal Railway Station built at ₹413 crore .
- Nearly ₹10,000 crore in interest-free loans for Telangana .
- Over 5,000 km of highways completed in the last 12 years .
And railways also came into picture. Kumar said 40 railway stations are being redeveloped under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme . New Charlapalli Terminal Railway Station, constructed at cost of ₹413 crore, was shown as one example of Centre trying to improve rail connectivity in region.
At same time, these claims are not happening in vacuum . Kumar also criticized opposition parties for allegedly spreading misinformation regarding Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls . So speech was not just about roads and railways,it had political messaging also.
Tbh,this is where public reaction becomes mixed. Big projects sound impressive on paper, but people usually judge by everyday experience — road condition, travel time, railway access, local jobs and whether promised works actually finish on ground .
And in Telangana politics, this kind of number game will continue. Centre will say it invested massively,state-level critics may question credit and implementation, and ordinary people are left trying to understand what changed in their own town or village…
