Many educators were feeling like they are doing government work only, but still getting blocked from their own career-related movement.
As per officials, teachers engaged in census-related duties may soon get some relief under ongoing transfer policy of School Education Department . Plan is being made to give exemption to such teachers so they can take part in voluntary transfer process.
But this relaxation may not be full open transfer freedom . From what is being indicated,it will likely be limited to intra-district transfers only, meaning teachers may be allowed to shift within same district, not outside.
And honestly, this makes situation slightly better, but not completely solved.
Earlier,General Administration Department (GAD) had put restrictions on employees involved in census duties . Because of that, teachers doing census work were not allowed to apply for transfers during census period, and this had pushed their eligibility issue till 2027 .
Few things standing out clearly here:
- Teachers engaged in census-related duties may soon get transfer relief.
- Proposed exemption is likely to be limited to intra-district transfers only.
- Official order from School Education Department is expected in coming days.
This whole issue created frustration because many teachers felt their professional mobility was being unfairly stopped . They were handling census responsibility on one side, and on other side they could not even apply for transfer like others .
Now government side seems to be acknowledging that teachers are caught in difficult position . Census work is official duty, but career needs and family situations also do not pause because of it.
Still, until official order actually comes, nothing is final rn . Teachers will be waiting to see exact wording, because one small condition in transfer policy can change everything for them…
