Film is set to release on June 26,but before that,it had to go through quite few changes.
The film completed certification process on June 20 and got U/A 16+ certificate from Central Board of Film Certification ( CBFC ) . But that came after board asked for 14 significant changes in content,which is not small thing ah .
Some dialogue changes are also getting noticed now . One line,“Kaala paida hua hai,koyla hai” was changed to “Saadah paida hua hai, namoona hua hai.” Another dialogue,“Paani of Kashmir” was removed completely and replaced with less controversial phrase.
And this is where debate starts,because comedy films usually depend on quick lines,random jokes and slightly mad energy . Once multiple dialogues are changed or removed,people naturally wonder how much original flavour is still there.
Few key things from CBFC changes:
- Bikini scenes featuring Disha Patani and Jacqueline Fernandez were cut as part of removal of sensual visuals.
- Several dialogues were either altered or entirely removed for compliance.
- Final runtime of film is 164.50 minutes after all edits.
Visual changes were also asked by CBFC . A sexually suggestive hand gesture was replaced with close-up of actor Vindu Dara Singh,which honestly sounds like very specific edit . These small cuts may look minor separately,but together they can change feel of scene.
Directed by Ahmed Khan,Welcome To The Jungle is a multi-starrer comic caper and obviously expectations are high . Akshay Kumar comedy has its own audience,and people will still come for star cast,chaos and that old franchise-type madness.
But at same time,14 significant changes before release does make people curious . Was film actually too edgy,or is CBFC just being extra careful with social sensitivities and norms rn?
Now final cut is cleared,release date is fixed for June 26,and audience will finally see what version has reached theatres . But somewhere question stays… how much jungle is still left after all this trimming…
