AMMA seems to be going through one more messy turning point, and honestly,Ansiba Hassan’s reaction after resignation of 17-member executive committee feels like frustration finally coming out in open .
This happened during general body meeting on June 22,2026,where executive committee led by first woman president Shwetha Menon stepped down . For Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA),this is not small thing ah,because criticism around leadership, transparency and handling of members’ concerns has been building for quite some time .
Ansiba Hassan, who was earlier joint secretary before resigning in February 2026,has now openly called for different kind of leadership inside AMMA . She said new leadership should include actors like Kunchacko Boban,Prithviraj,Asif Ali,and Dhyan Sreenivasan because she believes they can listen with genuine empathy .
And tbh, this empathy point matters here . Because whole issue is not just about posts and committees,it is also about whether members feel heard or just pushed aside.
Few things standing out clearly in this AMMA situation:
- Ansiba Hassan wants new committee to prioritize listening to members’ concerns .
- Previous committee did not provide adequate financial reports during meeting.
- Hassan is continuing legal action against Tini Tom for alleged defamatory remarks.
Hassan has also spoken earlier about character assassination and communal remarks allegedly made against her by fellow actor Tini Tom . She is still pursuing legal action against him, while Tini Tom has denied allegations and suggested there is some ongoing effort to tarnish his reputation.
But this is not happening in isolation only . AMMA has already seen resignations of Rima Kallingal,Remya Nambeesan, and Parvathy Thiruvothu, who left association because of dissatisfaction with leadership after fallout from 2017 actress assault case . So when Hassan talks about reform and accountability,it connects to much bigger anger inside industry .
She also thanked those who attended general body meeting and stressed that grievances must be aired and justice must be pursued . At same time, she made it clear previous executive committee failed to properly address serious issues, especially around financial discrepancies.
Honestly, this whole AMMA situation feels like members are no longer ready to accept silence as normal . New names may come, new committee may form, but whether trust can actually come back after so much internal damage… that is still uncomfortable question hanging there…
