Union Minister Kiren Rijiju visited on June 22, 2026,and his scuba diving trip near Swaraj Dweep has got people looking again at marine life there.
He went to Temple Garden,which is known for clear water,coral reefs and underwater life . And yes,photos and videos from such places always look dreamy,but at same time question is always same — how do we enjoy these places without slowly damaging them?
This visit also happened around celebration of 12th International Yoga Day . Rijiju took part in events themed "Yoga for Healthy Ageing." So one side was yoga and wellness,on other side was nature,sea,corals and tourism discussion.
And tbh,the scuba diving part seems to have become main highlight only . Rijiju shared his experience on social media and spoke about protecting this ecosystem. He said,"The amazing marine life is well protected by the government's strict regulations and laws," which is nice to hear,but people will obviously expect those rules to be followed properly on ground also.
