Sometimes these reality shows give us some really heartwarming moments ah . On a recent Indian Idol episode, legendary singer Udit Narayan shared one such story and it was honestly just so pure.
It all started when one contestant,Abhishek, sang that iconic song 'Are Diwano Mujhe Pehchano' from Don . And hearing that song,Udit ji just went into another zone completely .
He said he was having a major flashback . In his own words,“I’ve gone into a flashback. year this film,Don,was released was the same year I came to Bombay 1978.” Just imagine,a newcomer in the city, dreaming big.
And he even shared that he had to borrow money from friend just to watch the film . He saw it at theater called Ganga Jamuna in Tardeo and was just blown away by Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman's performances .
And tbh, this is where the story gets really amazing.
- Udit recalls watching Don upon arriving in Mumbai.
- Full-circle moment — he later sang the same song in Don 2 .
- Tribute to iconic film — host Aditya Narayan celebrates Don's impact on cinema.
Years later,he got the chance to sing that same song for Don 2 . He was musing about it only, saying,“How could I have known back then that the film Don I was watching would one day be remade, and that I would get the opportunity to sing the same song in it?”
Life is so unpredictable sometimes .
Even his son, host Aditya Narayan, joined in and paid tribute to original film . He said,“Zeenat ji's Don is a film that is etched in minds of cinema lovers from beginning to end.” And he's not wrong, that film's impact is huge .
It's just crazy to think about the journey . One day you are a struggling artist borrowing money for movie ticket, and years later you are singing for that same movie's remake… life really comes full circle sometimes…
