So the jury in that high-profile Sir Jeffrey Donaldson trial has been sent home for weekend . They already spent about seven hours discussing but still no verdict.
This whole case is happening at Newry Crown Court and honestly,it's been getting so much attention because of who is involved . Sir Jeffrey was leader of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) after all.
And allegations are not small thing ah . He is facing 18 charges,including rape and multiple counts of indecent assault . These claims come from two women and are about things that allegedly happened between 1985 and 2008.
During the trial,which is now in its fourth week,the jury heard testimony from both complainants . Sir Jeffrey Donaldson also gave evidence and has maintained his innocence from the beginning,pleading not guilty to all charges.
