Just saw a post by Shekhar Kapur and it really makes you think about how much things have changed in one lifetime only . From a Tanga to AI,that's a huge jump ah.
He was talking about his childhood in Delhi, where he used to go to school in Tanga . Later he got a bicycle for his commute from Nizamuddin to Barakhamba Road.
And best part was him remembering how he would stop for jamuns from trees near India Gate . He even joked that this made him late for school many times . So relatable.
His exact post was, “I remember going to school in a Tonga in Delhi. Now heavily into AI . What journey life has been.”
And tbh, that line really hits you. It’s not just his personal story,it’s story of our whole country in some way . The speed of change is just mind-boggling sometimes.
Few things standing out from his journey:
- Nostalgic school memories of Tanga rides and eating jamuns .
- Current interest in exploring artificial intelligence.
- Upcoming project is a sequel,Masoom: New Generation.
But he's not just looking back . He is also working on the sequel to Masoom, which is called Masoom: The New Generation . And his daughter,Kaveri Kapur, will be in it.
He said something about this too, “For long time,I have felt that the themes of Masoom deserved to be revisited through the lens of today’s world.” This makes sense, because families and problems are so different now.
And on top of all this,he is again working with A.R. Rahman for his next film . They already did amazing work together on Elizabeth - Golden Age and Bombay Dreams,so this is exciting news.
It feels like he is trying to bring his old-world storytelling and mix it with all this new technology he's learning about . What will Shekhar Kapur film influenced by AI even look like…
