On June 21,2026,1.20 lakh candidates sat for exam, while there are only 5,250 MBBS seats in government and private medical colleges.
That number itself is heavy. Around 44 candidates fighting for each available seat is not small thing ah . For students and families, this is not just one exam day,it is years of coaching, fees, stress and one big hope packed into few hours.
Exam was held across 283 centers throughout state, and arrangements also show how tense whole thing had become . Question papers and sensitive materials were moved under military supervision using aircraft and Mi-17 helicopters, which honestly tells you how much trust issue and fear is around such exams now .
Local police were also kept on standby in case any problem came up during examination process . At same time, leave for junior doctors was canceled so enough medical support could be maintained during exam day .
Few things clearly stood out in this whole arrangement:
- 1.20 lakh candidates appeared for only 5,250 MBBS seats.
- Exam was conducted at 283 centers throughout Madhya Pradesh .
- Bhopal had highest expected turnout, with over 13,774 students registered.
Railways also had to step in for candidates travelling to exam centers . Special help booths were set up at major railway stations, which sounds basic but for students coming from different towns, this kind of support matters a lot on such stressful day .
Dr. Kanita Singh,Dean of Government Medical College, confirmed that notices were issued to junior doctors as per directions from National Medical Commission (NMC). Dr. Kanita Singh said,"We have issued notices to junior doctors in this regard. Similar instructions were given during the earlier NEET-UG examination as well."
And tbh, when military supervision, police standby, railway help booths and canceled doctor leaves are all part of one entrance exam,it shows how massive and sensitive medical admission system has become . Exam reportedly went ahead with minimal disruption, but that does not reduce anxiety for students waiting now.
Now all focus shifts to results, and for thousands of aspirants in Madhya Pradesh, this waiting period may feel even heavier than exam day itself . So many dreams for so few seats… and what happens to everyone left outside?
