NEET-UG 2026 re-examination starting today is not small thing ah,especially after all noise and trust issues around earlier exam . For lakhs of students, this is not just one more paper, this is months and years of pressure sitting inside one exam hall .
National Testing Agency (NTA) has also sent message to candidates, asking them to stay calm and trust their preparation . And honestly, that sounds simple from outside, but anyone who has seen NEET pressure knows how heavy this day can feel.
NTA posted,"This is the day you've prepared for. Stay calm, trust yourself, and give it your best - you've earned this moment," through social media . That line may comfort some students, but still,exam-day fear is exam-day fear only.
This re-examination is expected to have over 22.79 lakh candidates across 5,440 centers in India, and also 14 international centers . That scale itself is huge, and managing it without fresh controversy is going to be real test for authorities.
Few things candidates need to be very careful about today:
- Entry times strictly enforced — Candidates must enter by 1:30 PM to avoid disqualification.
- Prohibited items restricted — Only admit cards, ID cards, and photographs are allowed inside exam halls.
- Security arrangements — Three tiers of police deployment ensure a secure examination environment.
And tbh, strict checking was expected after what happened earlier . Union Minister Ramdas Athawale said,"There was a scam in the NEET exam earlier, which caused significant trouble for people. The Government of India has taken very strict measures... those responsible must face severe punishment."
Authorities have now put strict checks, surveillance and police deployment at venues . Question papers are being transported securely, candidates are being frisked, and intelligence teams are watching for any possible disruption rn .
In Uttar Pradesh,Keshav Prasad Maurya,Deputy Chief Minister, said arrangements are in place for smooth conduct of exam . Babloo Kumar,Joint Commissioner of Police in Lucknow, also confirmed that extensive police arrangements were deployed across many centers and candidates are being checked properly before entry.
NTA has also told students to remain hydrated, plan for traffic and follow exam-day rules carefully . Small mistake at gate can become big problem on such day,and nobody wants disqualification after reaching this stage.
But bigger question is still hanging there . Can this re-examination really bring back full confidence among students and parents after earlier irregularities,or will doubts keep following NEET for some more time…
