This whole US-Iran talks situation has again gone into messy zone,and honestly,it feels like one more diplomatic door has been shut before anything solid could come out of it .
On June 21,2026,Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei announced suspension of quadrilateral talks involving US,Iran,Qatar,and Pakistan . Reason given was escalating tensions after threats made by US President Donald Trump .
These talks were not some small side meeting also . They were part of broader dialogue around Iranian oil sales,maritime security in Strait of Hormuz,issuance of licenses for Iranian oil sales and even release of frozen assets.
And from what Baghaei said,things were actually moving at technical levels . There had been progress on some fronts,but atmosphere changed quickly after Trump warned Iran over its influence in Lebanon.

Iranian officials are also not sounding like they want to back down . Parliament Speaker MB Ghalibaf said US threats would not deter Iran from pursuing its interests,and he also stressed that Iran's armed forces are ready to respond to any provocations .
But at same time,this whole thing feels dangerous ah,because oil,Strait of Hormuz,US-Iran tension,Lebanon influence,proxy groups… all these are not small matters . One angry statement can freeze talks,and one frozen talk can leave region guessing what comes next…
