Cocktail 2 has landed in theatres and honestly,box office story is already more interesting than reviews story . Directed by Homi Adajania and starring Shahid Kapoor,Kriti Sanon,and Rashmika Mandanna,film released on June 21,2026 and despite mixed talk,it has still managed to pull crowd .
Opening day itself was not bad at all . Movie collected ₹13.50 crore on Friday,which is decent start for this kind of big-budget Hindi film . And then Saturday jump came in,with Cocktail 2 earning ₹16.25 crore.
That jump matters because early estimates for Sunday are now putting collection between ₹18-20 crore . If that happens,opening weekend total can reach around ₹47-50 crore,which sounds strong on paper.
But at same time,budget is not small ah . Film reportedly has ₹150 crore budget,so nice weekend alone will not be enough . It needs to keep earning after weekend also,otherwise numbers can suddenly start looking less comfortable.

And tbh,reviews are not exactly glowing. Free Press Journal gave it only 2.5 stars and said film has stunning visuals of Sicily,but story felt stale and predictable. That is kind of familiar problem with many glossy Bollywood films now,beautiful locations but same old emotional track .
Still,lack of competition is helping it a lot . Since Cocktail 2 is the only major Hindi release this week,it has clear space at box office. Sometimes timing saves film more than reviews only .
What will really matter is Monday onwards . Weekend buzz can be built with star cast,visuals,Sicily charm and curiosity,but weekdays show actual audience acceptance. If collections stay steady,makers can breathe easier . If they drop fast,then ₹150 crore cost will start looking heavy…
And that is where whole question sits now: is Cocktail 2 genuinely connecting with people,or is it just enjoying one free weekend before real test begins…
